Gurren Lagann marathon!

OK, who else has been watching Gurren Lagann on SciFi Channel? (God bless Ani-Mondays) Has anyone been recording and saving the episodes to watch in one almighty spree?

Yo, right here.

It hasn't been easy. Having to save 27 episodes, for 13 1/2 hours of runtime (or 25% of my DVR space). And I do admit, I did sneak some peeks. But, at last, the final episode has aired, and I can watch it properly. Thirteen hours straight through, no stopping for anything!

Well, OK, stopping for a few things. And I can tell you right now, I'll probably spread it out over a couple days. Over half a day's worth of watching anime is a little much to do all at once, even for me, and it's been a while since I've tried a marathon like this. The anime will probably be better that way anyway.

I just finished the sixth episode (the one with the hot spring; Oo la la!), and it doesn't disappoint. Of course, I knew from the first episode that this was something really good. The promos presented it as sort of off the wall, like Excel Saga, but with mecha and set in a post-apocolyptic setting. The story's good, I really like the characters, and I can't get enough of the mecha designs. And, in the Excel Saga tradition, there's a cute pet who doubles as an emergency food supply.

And Yoko, the sniper girl? Best thing to happen to anime fan-service since Faye Valentine.

This one's going on my "To buy" list, for sure. (As soon as those Adsense millions start rolling in. Which should be any day now. Yep.) I should be done with the series by the end of the week, if not sooner, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Noal, I just dropped by to learn some Anime speak, I love those cute little characters. Keep up the good work and as soon as the millions roll in I'll be over for a loan or I'll even accept a handout.

Perhaps I may have some time to wait, what do you think?

For millions, it'll probably be a very long wait, although I seem to be on the right track. I just hope I haven't missed something, you know? But, this is about more than just money anyway.

If I do ever make the millions, a loan or handout wouldn't be out of line. It's only fair. (My roundabout way of saying thanks for the comments.)

Gurren Lagann definitely has some cute characters. I didn't realize this until after I posted, but the character art style reminds me of another anime, Nerima Daikon Brothers. I'll have to check to see if any of the same people worked on both.
