Blood: The Last Vampire

"As far as we know, she's the last remaining original!"
PLOT SYNOPSIS:
In 1966, there is one remain vampire in the world named Saya. She works for a secret governmental team that hunts daemons; technically, the other Vampires (whom are not considered as originals and are called Chiroptera). She is a sullen, quiet girl who carries a sword around her with all times, even in the school she is working undercover in.
The scene is that of the Yotoka Air Base in Fusshi-shi, Tokyo, around the time of Halloween and the Halloween celebration at the school. Two of the students attending the school are of the Chiroptera. These students plans to feed on the school and the school nurse and it is Saya's job to stop them and destroy them.
REVIEW:
Blood: The Last Vampire is one of those classic anime films that will be forever engraved as a wonderful film. Though it is not for the younger audiences due to excessive violence and heavy cursing, if you are of an older audience and love vampires, this is the movie for you. Mind you, this isn't your average "I von't to suck yor blood" sort of Dracula movie. This is violent, new-age vampires.
First off is the main character, Saya. Saya is BADASS. Saya encompasses the cool, solemn demenor of a fighter. She is 'The Last Vampire' although you never see her acting in the way that the blood-crazied Chiroptera act. Throughout the whole movie, in fact, it seems like Says hates all the other vampires. However, at the end of the movie, she shows a true sypathetic smile when confrounting the dying Chiroptera.
Then....there's the English voices. Saya's voice is....how do I put this...bad. The voice acting for her sounds extremely fake, like the voice actress just walked in and read the script with absolutely no motivation whatsoever. The voice of one of the Chiroptera is grating and irritating. David's voice is surprisingly believeable, though I am in no way saying that it's near some of the voice acting of superior dubbed anime. But Manga Entertainment has never been too good at dubbing, though I must admit they're getting better at it.
Though it seems there are some strings left untied, it seems like that's the way it SHOULD be. It seems so mysterious and dark that it should leaves some mystery. At the end, we find out that about half of the story has been told from the nurse's perspective, which would explain the loose strings, because she herself had no idea what the truth was.
On a final note, I would like to say that the art is very unique and thoughtful, along with the soundtrack. There is one point where Saya is rushing in to kill the Chiroptera in the nurse's office and there is this awesome jazz piece playing which makes the scene piece together nicely with the unique art and awesome music. (Actually, I'm not sure if it could be called jazz, but I think it's pretty damn jazz-y so I'll just use that.)
GRADING:
Story: A-
Dubbing: C
Art: B
Music: A-
All in all, this is definately something to look into if you have the time. If you feel I have left out something vital or have a point to argue, please mention it.
